Welcome back in the name of the Risen Lord Jesus Christ. If you are visiting, we are glad that you are here and kindly ask that you sign our guest book at the sanctuary doors. If you would like to become a member please speak to the Pastor. In case of illness, the Pastor should be informed. He will always be glad to speak with those who are confronted with problems of a spiritual nature. The time before worship is a quiet time for prayer and meditation to prepare for worship. Please see the inside cover of the hymnal for prayers and page 329f to prepare for Holy Communion. Communicant members are asked to sign the communion book at the entrance of the church.

COVID 19 WORSHIP: Welcome home everyone! While we are here to rejoice in God’s house, we still have to follow the rules for practicing social distancing, wearing a mask and santitizing hands on your way in and out of church. If you are wearing gloves, please dispose of them at home. Please take your masks home as well as your bulletins to limit exposure and the amount of Garbage and recycle for the church. We have masks for you to take home in case you have not brought them. Please wash and bring every Sunday. A detailed description of worship guidelines is on the small table with the bulletin and offering plates. We are required to wear a mask on entering the church but once seated; if seating is compliant; one may remove the mask in order to worship.
Disciples Live in Their Vocations by Grace through Faith in Christ
Those who are sent as “laborers for his vineyard” (Matt. 20:1) depict the wide diversity of vocations to which the disciples of Christ Jesus are called. Whatever our particular stations in life may be, we are called to live and serve by faith in His promises. Our labors do not merit anything before Him, for He is already generous to one and all without partiality. In mercy, He has chosen to bear “the burden of the day and the scorching heat” on our behalf, to make us equal to Himself and to give us what belongs to Him, that is, the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 20:12–15). This way of the Lord is foolishness to the world and foreign to our thoughts, but He draws near, so that “he may be found” (Is. 55:6), “have compassion” and “abundantly pardon” (Is. 55:7). So it is that we are found in Christ Jesus, and He is honored in our bodies, “whether by life or by death” (Phil. 1:20), by “fruitful labor” (Phil. 1:22) or by suffering. It is by faith in His forgiveness that our works are “worthy of the gospel” (Phil. 1:27).

Collect of the Day
Lord God, heavenly father, since we cannot stand before You relying on anything we have done, help us trust in Your abiding grace and live according to Your word; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

LWML-CANADA SUNDAY MITE CHALLENGE 2O2O - It has been several months of uncertainty with respect to meeting together as LWML societies. Due to the various restrictions on gatherings and procedures in our church, Mite Sunday will not be as we normally hold it. Instead below is a form/challenge which we can all take part in and continue to support our Mission Grants. I would ask all those who can, take part in this challenge. On October 18th, 2020 we will have a separate basket at the entrance next to our offering basket and I would ask that you place you challenge/mite donations in this basket. The Lord has blessed us, so let us show our appreciation by giving what we can to Mites on this LWML Sunday. A copy of the challenge is on the table with the bulletins. . Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Blessings, Diana
